Times Square
Times Square is overwhelming.
There is so much to see-- many ads and many stores. For the most part, I ignored the stores and was just saturated by the color intensity and lights of the ads.
I had to walk through Times Square to get to a soiree to meet my fellow classmates. I stopped every 5 feet to take pictures! In the upper right of my third photograph, you can see a digital clock indicating that it is 6:10. I was supposed to be at the Meet-and-Greet... and Eat at 6:30.
One day soon, I'll return to Times Square and actually look around at the stores, but for now, here is my abbreviated experience.
Fortunately, I made it to the party on-time, right at 6:30! My classmates are great people. I enjoyed talking with everyone as much as I could.
We were all eager to talk to each other, but the restaurant had really loud music playing. For 3 hours, we strained our voices. No Bueno!
But... I fit in with these people right away! I'm looking forward to a fun schoolyear :-)
First Look at Times Square the evening of 9/11/17
So Many Ads and So Many People! I wish I had words of wisdom or reflections about what exactly I thought of Times Square. I was in a hurry. It was overwhelming, overstimulating. I wanted to stay longer and see more, and I wanted out all at the same time.
I hope the photos at least give a sense of what I saw, what I felt.
Times Square is not a square at all!
On New Year's Eve, once you are in a section, there are so many people, there's no way to leave your section. So I will pass on the New Year's Eve experience.
This Fall, I hope to have time to experience this organized chaos of the square one day soon.
It was pretty special to pass through!
Just how big are those advertisements?! THIS BIG!!!
I walked back to the subway with a classmate at the end of the evening, and look what we saw!
I hope to visit Radio City Music Hall before the end of this year :-)
