Welcome!

Here is a copy of my GoFundMe Campaign

I have the opportunity of a lifetime and I couldn't be more excited!  I was accepted to study Acting for two years at the Tom Todoroff Studio Conservatory in New York.  The school will provide the springboard to build a career in TV, film and theatre.

This is the beginning of my dream-come-true.  But I cannot let it die before it even starts.  Classes start this September which means I will have to move to New York in August.  The money I make now barely covers my living expenses, let alone tuition for the conservatory.

The full tuition for one year is $15,000.  Fortunately, I will be able to transfer with my current job and continue working in New York.  I will be able to make small payments each month toward the tuition fee.  And of course, I will sell as many of my possessions as I can this summer.  But even so, it will not amount to the full $15,000.

Because of the encouragement of my wonderful friends, I created this GoFundMe campaign.  My goal is set at $5,000 in the hope of fully covering tuition.  Any much appreciated donations above $5,000 will go toward tuition for the second year.

Why do I want to become an actor?

I've never forgotten how I felt on Titanic's opening day when Leonardo DiCaprio turned around in that tux and said, “So, you want to go to a real party?!”  My reaction:  Yes.  Yes I do.  With you...

And now, because of that beautiful blockbuster story, I have this wonderful memory of the experience for the rest of my life!

That's what I want to do.  I want to be a professional actor, so that I, too, can share wonderful stories with the world and bring joy to people.

Since I was little, I have enjoyed performing-- from dressing up and acting out stories like Cinderella in my family's living room to performing at school on stage in Babes in Toyland and The Music Man.  I have devoted the past few years to learning voice-over technique and Acting Shakespeare.

And I am so excited that I have this opportunity to turn my passion into a career!  I think I'm still in shock.

Tom Todoroff Studio Conservatory

Tom Todoroff Studio Conservatory provides training in Acting, Voice-Over, Movement, Alexander Technique, Theatrical Clowns, Masks and On-Camera among other courses.

At the end of two years, there is an Industry Presentation in front of Agents and Casting Directors.  Tom Todoroff, a member of the Producers' Guild, has a vested interest in his students' success.  The strength of a student's audition is a direct reflection on how well the person was taught.  In fact, he has coached many actors to success including Roma Downey, Eric McCormack and Samuel L. Jackson.

Tom says, “If your dream doesn't scare you, it's not big enough.”  So three cheers for Big Dreams!  And I thank you so much for your support.

Although I cannot repay your donation in kind, I do want to give something back to you.  I've decided to start a blog, so you can follow me on this exciting journey thisactorsjourney.blogspot.com

I will write regularly and post pictures so you can see my progress and share this experience.

And of course, if ever you are in New York, please let me know, and I will make time for you.

Thank you.
